The set of answers to short questions from the disciples, ranging over some crucial aspects of the Dzogchen practice,  goes much beyond a mere description of the path to liberation.<br \/>\nAlthough the advise offered in &#8216;The Enlightened View of Samantabhadra&#8217; describe the complete path to illumination, the everyday language of the dialogue and the directness of the advices makes us dive into the view of D\u00fcdjom Lingpa. The clear explanations on deep subjects and the precise definitions of Dzogchen terms dissipate wrong views and deepen the trust in this pinnacle of the Dharma.<br \/>\nThe participants of this retreat must, prior to it, study and practice the preliminary instructions taught by Sera Khandro in <em>The Fine Path to Liberation<\/em>, that will be made available after the registration. The text was commented orally by Lama Alan Wallace during his 2019 retreat in Brazil, and these commentaries are available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLc7PKLO8yzydoTfY2hr1kQLioKNxgBNXc\">on YouTube<\/a>. <strong>This is an indispensable prerequisite for this retreat and it must be taken seriously.<\/strong><br \/>\nIn addition, you should be familiar with the foundational teachings and practices of shamatha, the four applications of mindfulness, and the four immeasurables, and relative and ultimate bodhicitta.<br \/>\nThis retreat will also be consecutively translated into Portuguese.<\/p>\n<h3>Schedule<\/h3>\n<p>The retreat starts on October 8th and ends on 12th (Friday to Tuesday).<br \/>\nDuring most of the days, there will be three daily sessions with Lama Alan Wallace<br \/>\n(All times are in Eastern Brazilian Time (UTC-3))<br \/>\n<strong>1 to 3 PM<\/strong> | teachings<br \/>\n<strong>5 to 7 PM<\/strong> | teachings<br \/>\n<strong>8 to 9 PM<\/strong> | questions to the Lama<br \/>\nOn the last day, 12th (Tuesday), there will be only one session:<br \/>\n<strong>1 to 3 PM<\/strong> | teachings<\/p>\n<h3>Registration<\/h3>\n<p>The retreat will be streamed via Zoom and YouTube, in a closed network for those who are registered.<br \/>\nYour early registration greatly benefits our organizational process!<br \/>\nYour registration and participation does not depend upon financial contribution. He left his college studies in 1971 and moved to Dharamsala, India to study Tibetan Buddhism, medicine and language. He was ordained by H.H. the Dalai Lama, and over fourteen years as a monk he studied with and translated for several of the generation\u2019s greatest lamas. In 1984 he resumed his Western education at Amherst College where he studied physics and the philosophy of science. He then applied that background to his PhD research at Stanford on the interface between Buddhism and Western science and philosophy. Since 1987 he has been a frequent translator and contributor to meetings between the Dalai Lama and prominent scientists, and he has written and translated more than 40 books. Along with his scholarly work, Alan is regarded as one of the West\u2019s preeminent meditation teachers and retreat guides. He is the founder and director of the Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies and is the motivating force behind the develop of the Center for Contemplative Research.
